Topic: Will GL 1000 triple tree and forks work on my CB 500?

It just looks like a cheap way to get dual disks upfront. Will it fit properly on my head tube? Are the forks longer? Are they beefier? Will it make all the girls like me?

A,i believe there is a thread on this for the 500,seems that the stem will need to be changed out,shouldnt be a big deal tho.B,probably.C,yes.D,probably not.

I am not experienced with the 500s/550s but there was a post a while back discussing the difficulties of mounting up the Gl trees to the 500/550s head stock. As Duster mentions, it apparently is not a direct swap but rather it requires replacing the GL steering stem with a 500/550 one.  This involves grinding off the welds, pressing out and then back in the stems and rewelding.  The GL forks are also most certainly longer than the 500s.  Good luck.

Very intriguing stuff. What's this about CB650 sliders having the dual disk setup? Can i just get those and put them on my existing CB500 fork tubes? Have you noticed I ask a lot of questions?
