Yes, I may live in a nice part of the country, but the spiders here are big enough to breed with the dogs.  We have these things taking over the place around here.  This one was in my kitchen when I got home tonight, but it was only a young one so it wasn't too hard to dispatch with.  When they get bigger they get a little more difficult to deal with.  Remember, if you value your life STAY AWAY ;D

i #$%*ing hate them things true blue!their #$%*ing dangerous to!my wife sort of empties a whole can of fly spay on them then when its out throws it at the thing like an empty pistol in those old cowboy films,,those things dont like being pissed on though,,a bit of my hot steam soon has them on their way,,i flattened one once with a shovel,,#$%*,,what a mess,,just move them on.

just as a side note if you hit one of these dog spiders and dont kill it,, itll get real angry,,they mostly live in the hinterland areas,,,so,,stay on the freeway if you come to australia, and keep out of the good riding areas for your own protection.

note the no gigantic urban spread here.
thats whats nice about where i live, plus we get any and all services and decent retail chain outlets.

Easy access to Lincoln Park, Wrigley Field, Sox Park, and downtown Chicago by 24 hour public train system for $2.25.

Less than 2 miles from half a dozen Lake Michigan beaches.

Lots of trees and beautiful old houses and apartment buildings.

Many good restaurants.

Fantastic library system.

Advance Auto about a mile away open to midnight 6 days a week and a 24 hour AutoZone store 3 miles away.

Tree lined twisty (but 35mph limited) Sheridan Road starts 4 blocks away.

That is not me in the video, clearly I would be much faster, the video would be blurred as a result of outright speed, and you would hear my knee scraping the ground over the ?? music.

But that is where I live and I love it. Drive a bike without the rain pissing down on you.

About 5 miles as the crow flies. Half the distance of last year.

heres my back yard,,i did a job up at springbrook,we ride this road a lot,ive cut it right down to include the single lane bridges etc,the dash cam is right on the A pillar,,although i do cross the double at times, that truck coming down,an unwritten law is uphill trucks give wide berth and way to the downhill trucks, this is uphill the whole way,,its a great ride up or down,,better have good brakes,,this is a week day didnt see a single bike,,man some guys pass us on late bikes really flying, like truely fast!if anyone is coming to the gold coast for a holiday or similar look me up,,ill show you the best riding areas,,these roads go forever,,no stop signs or red lights, that truck is a six month old isuzu,,it was empty and tares at 6.3 tonnes,,it has a 7.8 litre 24 valve intercooled straight six and a six speed box,man it did that easy, only used 4th and 5th the whole way,the grades not really apparent in this footage,i still havent figured out a way to mount my cheap plastic dash cam on the honda yet without modifying it or damaging it.

In 1 word for my neck of the woods is FOOD. Nebraska, Corn and Soybeans account for alot of jobs here in the State and due to this economy resistant product we have a unemployment rate of 3% And, we help feed alot of the world too. Cost of living is very low, and the Sunflowers are...well TALL!

We had a series of bad storms blow through Friday evening and lost power along with 600,000 others in the Twin Cites...Mainly Minneapolis and the near western burbs.  Still out as of Sunday nite but myself and another neighbor are running 8 houses on our two generators.  Mine a 7000 watt and his a 3500 watt.  We have been rationing the use of high wattage stuff like microwaves to make sure everyone has basic lites and refridgerators.   Running several sump pumps too as we have had much rain too.  Eveyone chipping in for gas.

So it's pretty hot too, in the 80's and Saturday nite me and the misses deicde to take the bike and head to the river downtown to the Stonearch Bridge about 11pm.  It's a cool urban park area on the Mississippi River at St Anthony Falls.  We spend some time walking the historic bridge, cooling off in the spray from the falls as it is really ripping.  Take the staircase hidden by the huge elm tree on the east bank down to a sandy beach area, a few folks are fishing. Someone has a campfire going down the shore a bit.  It's a cool spot, dark, hidden, remote, right in the heart of the city.  After a bit we stroll back across the bridge, there are people out, young college age couples, middle age folks, a few women alone more often in small groups, people walking their dogs, skateboarders, bicycle riders, etc.  We get back to the bike and the rear tire is flat.  There is an all nite service station about 8 blocks away all uphill.  Jackie insists she will be fine hanging out at the bridge so I slowly ride the bike on the flat to the station...surprisingly it holds the air I put in and head back.  It's about 1am now and as I get back my wife is laughing it up with a young couple near where I left her.  She tells me the story...remember it's hot so Jackie had a bikini top on under her leather jacket.  She had her jacket off to keep cool and met up with the couple and where chatting.  As I make the turn into the parking lot the guy says to Jackie "you better put your jacket on so your husband doesn't think you where showing off your jugs".  Jackie replies "my husband likes my jugs".  Then the girl says "wow, you're a real cougar" ( I am a bit younger) :D.  Thats what all the laughing was about as I pulled up.  We made it home before the tire went flat again.

So anyway it's nice to live in a city where you can go out late at nite without carrying a gun and don't have to be afraid of your fellow humanoids.  We have been "behaving" like this for over 30 years in the city and never have had a problem.  Winter is a #$%* but I love this city.
