I am replacing the wiring harness in the 1971 CB750K1. It's been a pretty straightforward process so far with a one for one replacement of the cables. I have now run into an issue with the wiring into the starter control (next to the battery).
If you look at picture #1, you will see a red connector highlighted in a red box at the top of the picture. This is the connector on the new wiring harness. The bottom of the picture (in a larger red box) shows what was connected from the current wiring harness (the red wire was joined to the black wire which contained a fuse in the middle of it. The second picture is a blow up of the fuse connector.
It's clear that the connector on the new wiring harness does not match up with the connector available to me, but it's also clear that the original wiring harness was cut and this connector was added. I could modify the new harness the same way and use the same connector, but what should this look like? What connector should the red wire be going to? Any help / comments / suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
