Back at it this morning... made sure everything was nice and snug, went to fire it up... no dice. Unplug the generator again and it fires right up! Dammit!
I cleaned up the generator as best I could and then put some lithium grease on the rotor, however it's smoking now when I run the bike, which makes me think lithium wasn't the best choice. Can anyone shed some light on what, if anything is used to lube up the generator?
Furthermore... it runs like #$%* now?! I really don't get how I can ride the bike for weeks and have it run okay, and the very next morning under the same conditions... it barely idles. I don't know if I should pull the carbs off, clean them up again and then bench sync them using the drill bit method, then pay another $100 to have them synced (I don't have a manometer yet)... when I just did that a month ago. It's backfiring now, spitting fuel out of the #4 carb intake, and lots of black smoke when I rev it up... I'm guessing theres some spark issues... but I pulled off all the plugs and checked for spark and it was fine!?
I'm at a loss guys, I don't know where to begin... this bike might be on kijiji before long.
