Are the cases split??? If not you could re-install the oil pan and spray in the top where the rods are then rock the motor side to side and front to back.. I know it's HEAVY,,, We are talking about a CB750 correct?? Usually there's not much sludge in the motors because they are DRY sump , all of the oil is supposed to stay up in the oil tank. You might have half a quart drain , the rest is in the tank. I've always used STODDARD SOLVENT to clean crankcase parts.. BUT remember , because of all the little machined nooks and crannies you can' get ALL the solvent out. I'd recommend you (after clean and drain) pour a quart of oil in the crankcase before you out the jugs on and slosh it around then drain. ANY kind of cleaning solvent will thin the oil some.
