CB 750 F2 Float height
« on: June 11, 2013, 05:53:03 AM »

I know .. I know ... this has probably been posted a 100 times before...  :D

I am trying to use the clear plastic tubing on the over flow to get the "actual" height
of the fuel in my floats .....

And what a relevation that was ....

Despite reading the manual, and checking and checking... with the carbs on the bike
and the tube attached..  the fuel level on #1 was level with the top of the float chamber.

So high .. that when I hit the brakes... it flooded the cylinder so much that it swamped
the plug, and I had to pull it out to clear the fuel out of the thing.

Well that is the latest theory  :-)

To the question ... how far below the top of the float bowl top should the FUEL level be  ??
I have it currently at the bottom of the attachment flange of the float bowl .. and that has made a
HUGE difference.

And a tip..... spend some time to get hold of a very short screw driver to pull the floats off
with the carbs on the bike ... duh  :-\

TIA
Peter

In the range of 2-4 mm when checked with a clear tube.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
