I've heard these were a "get what you pay for"  shock knock off  of Hagons. I was told that you can actually rebuild them to make them work but they aren't up to par as is.

The last thing I ordered from China was a front brake master cylinder. It took a month to get here and the unit doesn't operate. So I'm back online looking for another. Who wants to ship something back to China then wait for delivery again? I'm through with that stuff no matter how good the price looks.

Like Powderman says, you get what you pay for.

Bite the bullet and get a set of quality shocks like Hagon. I did that and have never looked back. It is definitely worth it.

Wow thanks for the input. My wife has started riding with me and on big swooping bumps the rear tire hits the inside of the fender. I weight 190 and she weights 115. (If you Were going to ask)So you could say the shocks Are worn!! So I was looking for a replacement set. And almost bought those then said to myself I should see what the forum thinks. And I  am glad I did. Thanks!

I bought a pair like that.  The clevis unscrewed from the shaft and the POS went to pieces.  While riding down the road, the spring went flying one way and the hardware another.  Kind of scary to look back and see only one shock keeping the rear wheel away from the frame.

Walked back and picked up the pieces, and figured it just wasn't tightened properly.  Locktite and a good snug up, and tried it again.  Failure after just a few miles - the threads just pulled out of the junk aluminum.

This was on a stripped down triumph that weighed about 300 pounds.  I hate to think what it would have done on a heavier bike with a passenger.

I bought a set for curiosities sake and after just looking at them, decided to use them for mocking up only. I also posted a guys effort to make them work, he did well and made them usable but he had machining skills and machinery available to make the parts needed to make them work, He didn't recommend anyone doing it as it wasn't worth it..... Cheap Crap...

Until you've decided what shocks you want have you tried turning up the spring rate on the old shocks? I know what you mean by the swooping bumps because my wife rides with me all the time on my 550 and when she first got on the bike with me I made it it about 2 blocks down the road before I had to turn around and come back to turn up the spring rate due to the extra weight. It keeps it from bottoming out but it doesn't change the fact that mine still needs new shocks. The reason I know is because I've had the springs off the shocks before to clean them up and found the shocks themselves have no dampening at all anymore, basically nothing more than pogo sticks when springs are installed.

I have Ikons on my 650 and with the missus on the back I have no issues, I just have to remember to turn up the damping rate a little ;D

Hagons are great shocks for cruising, or smooth twisties. I have a pair on both bikes. They are super stiff though, so not really recommended for bumpy pothole Goaty roads, unless you like a sore @ss.

spend the extra on a pare of Hagon's. Not really that much more but the quality is there. Really the cheapest shocks worth buying for these bikes.

Well I just bought the  hagons. Really excited to get them!!  I mean your right for another 100$ you cant go wrong. I would have bought that cheap sh!? i dont know why maybe because the look pretty? i. Also thought about some fox coilovers but Could not find anything that would work for me. In regards to the spring adjuster I turned it all the way up and made no difference. Again thanks for saving me a headache

IIRC those shocks have been the subject of many threads. Bottom line was they aren't worth having. The spring rate was only good for a 250cc bike, though they have the fittings for a 750. The clevis area was very spindly and likely to break under load.

(I see Nikkisixx had this experience)

Just a point of order, its not the shocks that allow your wheel to bottom out, but the springs. Which in your case are sacked. IF they are OEM shocks then yes the whole shock and spring is sacked as they weren't any good from the git go.

Better quaity shocks will allow you to fit different spring rates for your load and riding style. Check with the manufacture.

In the blog thread I see his clevis broke during assembly.  That would have been irritating but less sphincter tightening  :o  I wish I had a pic or video of the parts scattered across the road.  The seller never responded to my emails, BTW.
