Hey guys, it's been ages since we spoke. Been a while. Hope you are all doing fine! Things are good here, I know you care
So I found an old engine lying around a barn. Owner said I could take it along. I gathered the parts, and took it home. Upon inspection, the camshaft is a bit rusty, and slightly pitted. The races aren't damaged, but the shaft is. Could I reuse it? Where lies the fine line between "throw it away" and "give it a clean and go".
Also, the engine was partly dissasembled. How to clean this up? I'm thinking of putting the cases together and hosing it down, then taking it apart. However I don't want to dig too deep into the engine. Did that once, that was quite the endeavour. And since I'm building a couple of motorcycles at the same time, I'm trying to manage the moments I can spare as best as I can!
Regards, Chris
