Been a while since posting here.
The '78 motor is in and running fairly well, need to mod the air bleed (plug the hole up the middle) to get a bit finer adjustment.
I have the old roundtops on now, 120 main, 40 pilot, pods and free flowing exhaust.
It will idle with air bleeds fully turned in...lol

Anyway, turbo is apart for detailing and polishing the compressor housing. Did a bit of porting to the inlet of the turbine for a smoother entry.

I've decided to follow Bamboozler's blowthrough carb setup using the stock keyholes.
Need some more soda to blast the bodies and floatbowls, I'm liking the results!
Ordering o-rings today, fuel pump and VR on the way, not sure if my wallet will buy a new Aeromotive boost referenced regulator, but racerheads always find a way!
Need to order some aluminum mandrel bends  for the turbo plumbing and airbox, and I have everything I need for the header and downpipe.

Thanks again Bill, you fueled the need or more cubes, it prob woulda been cheaper just bumping to 850, but... go big or go home :D

Workin on sourcing sleeves, either CycleX or another friend said he might have some if he didn't trade them away...lol
Not in a hurry, this will be my winter motor build, just collecting parts and drooling.

Should have some sleeves in a few weeks (CB900F)
OD measures 74mm, 2mm walls should be fine for a street motor in a chopper :D

Intereestingly, the stocker '78 motor is tearing it up, buddies I was riding with yesterday said it seemed quicker than the old 836. I got no speedo so I don't know, but she'll pick up the frontend on 1-2 shift :D
And it's not exactly wheelie bike material, long springer, long low rigid frame. Roads suck around here so I'm a li'l scurred to open up and keep it open, springer is too bouncy on our FUBAR roads in MI.

Bill, I'll be lookin :D

Grimmace, No boost yet, but the stocker is kickin more ass than I expected.
Rather ride than build right now :D
Long ass chop pick up the front on 1-2 shift.
Our 2 lanes suck so I'm scurred to open up on the 2 lanes for too long, even highway bounces you on overpasses. Not good on a pogo-ing springer. I need to work out a damper that's not ugly as sin.

Just got freed up enough to finish the carbs for turbo. Need to soda blast, final clean and assemble.
Turbo is apart for polishing and painting the hot section in my trademark flat blue :D
Also need to get a fuel pump and scavenge oil pump for the turbo.
I'll knock out the fab work after the roost and hopefully have it ready for the BBB meet in Muskegon, MI.

Oops, yeah it was Bill that asked if I'd have boost for the Roost ;)

So with pistons and sleeves for the big bore, the next big items I need are rods and cam.
Rods will be super-rods unless I can find a killer deal on some goldenrods :D
Cam, I'm still undecided. The 63A was nice in the 836, but since I trashed it, might step up a little. I'll be doing some light porting, valve job if nothing is damaged or bent, APE springs.
Any suggestions? and why ;)

That leaves new primary and cam chains... just because, adjustable cam sprocket, gaskets and sundries.
Will be a winter build, but I need to tear down the lower end and blast the cases and cylinder block before cold sets in. My blast cabinet is in an outside shed to keep grit out of my machine shop.

And YAY, the post came while I was typing this and my goodies have arrived!
Thanks again Bill! Now get those pipes on and take some pics of Tiger! :D
