Topic: head work on a cb550

Looks like i need new valves/springs for a CB550. I was quoted 450 for a set of kibblewhite valves at framecrafters, i see Cycle X lists a set of kibblewhites at 275, OEM is up in the 300+ range... do you think there's a difference i should be aware of?

I guess i should get new springs while i'm at it, sine i plan on doing teh cb650 cam swap while i'm in there...

also... should i replace the valve retainers and seats, cotters, the whole shebang? or can i get some reuse there from the parts i have?

ive been lucky,ive always used the old springs etc and always had really humming engines,go the extra in your case and spring for the new springs,itll be always in the back of your mind otherwise?

Send the head to Mike Reik he will gas flow it and replace whatever is necesary and it will fly
