Engine builder needed I think
« on: June 09, 2013, 01:57:26 AM »
G'day
I want to get a good CB750 engine for a bike I'm putting together.
I have been thinking about building one myself for ages now and have not got much further than that.
So an option depending on labour cost is getting someone to build it for me, that way it will get done atleast.
Any starting point of who to talk to and recomendations would be appreciated
Thanks
Scott

Not a clue mate.

I've always built my own.

There seems to be quite a few guys in the post classic racing scene that could build you a killer one.....

Somebody just built the engine for the café give away bike for Motorcycle trader mag.....they were in Sydney if I recall....Brian Brown of TT Motorcycles

Worth a try, I spoke to that bloke at Phillip Island on Australia day weekend. I'll check him out.
Yeah my problem is I've always got something that needs doing, same as everyone I guess. I reckon if I do it my self it will take twice as long to get built and that's if I'm lucky probaly more

If my mail is correct, that engine for the TT raffle bike (TT are in Melb) was built by someone I wouldn't put much faith in.........

If you want a strong and fast engine and don't mind paying for it:
Rex Wolfenden of T-Rex Racing

The closest bloke to you Scott that I'd be happy to recommend would be Steve Bayliss at Bathurst.
I"ll PM his number shortly.
Re the Island Classic I think it's about time all you blokes get together and join us at the camp ground.
Pretty good facilities and we can handle the catering.
You might be able to pour enough beer down my engineers throat and convince him to put that motor together for you. ;D ;D

Cheers,
Brian
