Asking $3900. Way high for this model. Calling later today.

I know and you folks know what these old Honda's cost to make nice. This one needs nothing that I can see.

It's worth 3k given the condition.

Out here in the West they want 2k to 2.5 k for junk.

I would say no more than 3k.

Adjust the valves, sync the carburetors.

Done.

I am tempted by this one:

everytime it shows in local CL.  Close relative to CBX750 I had in Prague, quite different animal than CB750.

That is a very clean cared for bike from appearances. Would let out the bad boy given many of your other bikes have been trending to white...

They're only original one time..and that's a beauty.  To change anything cosmetically, on this one particularly, would be almost criminal.  The 750 DOHC bikes are very cool..especially the F models.  I had a 1980 F, and it was a blast to ride.  I took it sea-shining sea, over 7,000 miles in 3 weeks with no problems..most of it at 80+ mph.

Matched a offer of $3500.

Would of preferred 3K but the bike is spotless for the year. In need of nothing, full tune 2000 miles ago.

Will see. I know it's on the high side but if you look at what else is for sale and the work to get it this nice you can understand.

Exactly.  You can buy ones for $1,500 but they have twice the miles, they're cosmetically challenged, and the stock pipes are usually gone.  That bike is worth the price if for no other reason then it's originality.  To get one into that condition would be pricey, and it still wouldn't be as cool as that survivor.

Exactly!

The only reason I would not buy it is the fact I know of a 79 CBX that might be for sale. More money too.

Email sent to him also. He was on the fence. Maybe I can push him off.  ;D

Also know where this is.  8)

I had a CBX750 as well, did you guys get the higher HP model, ours had close to 100HP stock, nimble little bike, There are a lot of people that didn't like the engines in the cbx but if well maintained and regularly fed oil they were a good bike....
