New Work Shop
« on: May 20, 2013, 03:33:53 AM »
I finally have some pictures of the new work shop verses the old workshop.  I kept the old tent garage and use it to store bikes that are not being worked on.  The new space is a big upgrade for me.  Much neater and more organized.

Widescreen TV and a fridge will complete it.  ;)

Do you work on other things too?

My work space is clattered with other stuff, especially wood and woodworking machines.

My work space is clattered with other stuff, especially wood and woodworking machines.

I was going to set it up as a wood shop too but after cutting several pieces of wood to make the ramp and shelves I found there was to much dust in there.  It was all over everthing so I scrapped that idea.

Now its just set up for motorcycles, mountain bikes and other small mechanical things.  All cutting and sanding has to happen outside so I have two portable tables for that.

Did you notice the new bike lift?  I added that on Saturday.  What a difference that makes for a guy with a bad back.  I was able to hand polish all of my spokes last night and I can still walk today.

I see, makes sense.

I have a leanto 40x10 feet.  On one end I have reloading bench and than it goes through dirty table, clean(er) big assembly table, table saw - nothing small, Walker-Turner from the time USA actually made tools, planer, jointer, band saw, arm saw, metal lathe and full size drill pres and shelves and storage all over walls.

When I do a project I usuallly have to clean up first and the wood dust gets anywhere :)

BTW, love that lift  :)

I too share the wood shop with the bike. I make photography props so my garage is a dusty mess. I have like a 4 car garage and its too small. I always put a cover over things I am working on.

Looks nice and love the lift, I want one.

Don't you want to insulate it?

Going to be cold in winter without insulation and a good wood burner. Or take a bit of wood if not insulated. Nice shop.
