76 and older key positions?
« on: June 12, 2013, 03:12:38 pm »
So I relocated my key on my 78K to down under tank where it should be!

Question, what do the two positions do?

Run 1 seems to be everything on

Run 2 ?

Sorry, have not actually started my bike yet (this week I think!!!!) maybe then it will be obvious?

Can you remove the key at the #2 position? If so it's for leaving the tail light on when you break down at night and need to leave the bike on the side of the road.

on my 73 all the way counter clockwise is off (the key will pull out)

all the way clockwise is off with tail light on (the key will pull out) for when you're parked (broke down) on the side of the road

the middle position is run (the key will NOT pull out)

be careful because from the run position, you can turn the key either way and pull it out. you won't know you did it wrong until you come back to it and the battery is dead. i rotated the switch on mine so when the key is vertical it is off off.
