WTB (wrong forum I know) custom tappet covers CB750
« on: June 12, 2013, 07:23:36 PM »
I had some in mind, I thought they were Joker, but not so. I saved a favorite place but I don't recognize it in my list.

They were not too tall with horizontal fins. I think a hex on top, maybe not.

Any clues?

Like I need to spend more money.   ;)

The first set look like webco, but should have a straight knurl on them, I just got a set from Tango
The second set are chrome die-cast, Jammer sold them, same company that made them made chromed tapered point covers, and dyno-clutch sets

Thanks! I was thinking of Scottly's style, straight up. But the tapered style, progressively smaller, is certainly the best price. May go that way.

The straight up ones were what I had in mind. But those tapered up are growing on me.

Good on you!  I would've bid on those.   ;)

Yeah I was pretty excited when I got them should clean up nice.  Can't believe people want such big money for these.  I have a wrinkle black valve cover and am thinking of using these with that.

The ones from Joker are $150 set. A lot of fine machine work goes into them. Time = money.

The tapered ones are diecast, and not machined flat. They came with a plastic gasket..no o ring groove.. They always weeped..

I just installed mine from vintagecb750 the price was cheap 39.00 for all 8 one does not fit the threads are messed up and they do leak oil if you over tighten them like 754 said the gaskets are cheap I replaced the gaskets on them and haven't had any problems. I need to get ahold of vintage and see about getting another one replaced. But if that is the style your wanting as pictured above vintagecb750 was the cheapest and shipping was fast.
I've done a lot of things in my life that I'm not proud of...and the things I AM proud of, "are disgusting"

The gold ones would clash with your bike's gold as they are too yellow. A nice set of purple ones would look nice on your bike if the correct shade. Or a shade of gold that would compliment the gold color of your frame. Finding an anodizer who could do so is possible, just not ultra easy. There are a few shops that do anodizing of gold motor parts for Cox model airplane motors who could do it as I think theeir gold would be the shade you might want.

Looks like you did better than me polished with O-rings!  Sounds like a good deal.  Let us know how they work out for you.
