Looks good mate! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I wonder to what extent the finned cover dissipates heat better than the smooth ??? I assume they made the change for this reason ???

I think that's the reason, but I don't have any hard data on cooling.

I'm sure a cooler with one of Terry's adapters would take care of any problems. ;) ;D

I thought the reason was because they(smooth) cracked if overtightened just a little.

I guess it would strengthen it also. This is the reason they added webbing around the bolt hole on the inside as well.

I went out and measured the thickness of the material and it's a tad over 3mm, which is quite thick, I don't know how much is removed on the lathe to make it round, but if it's just a "skim", it should be fine. I'd watch those "ridges" though, they only serve to remove material and weaken the assembly. I still reckon it looks good though, of course as Bob mentioned, it'd look better attached to one of my oil coolers, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D
