Benelli has come in. This will take some work to mount but I like it. Thanks to Camelman for it.

I am not sure how it should be mounted... flush with the frame or at an angle. Im not sure if one can tell the difference in the pics....

Where are the mounting points on the tank Tews? Can you snap a couple pics? I'd like to see if it's different than what I have on my turbo bike.

I was going to PM you and ask if you could snap a few pics for me. There are no mounting brackets. It will have to be completely fabbed up. I placed the tank on it for picture purpose...

+1 looks cool man. i think the bottom line of the tank should flow with the seat line imo

hey Greggo

I went threw the turbo build again and didn't see any pics on the mounting.
From the looks I may mount a tab on the upper frame to bolt on the front of the tank.

rear will be the same.

OK, on the spine of the frame a section is ground down, and a bolt hole was drilled and tapped. That goes down through a hole in the tank, just forward of the gas cap that clamps it down. There's also a spring latch at the back of the tank that attaches to a tab on the frame. I don't have pics of the back latch.

Hey you ever think of going with a mono shock?

I have been looking and have found the vfr500's and the vfr750s use mono shocks... Now I just need someone who has one to measure it for me...

sweet tank -

Could you lower the front of it to match the angle of the rear of the frame or the angle of the seat pan.

I always thought it would be cool to build a bike with one of those tanks. I like it when the bottom of the tank is parallel to the ground and in line with the seat.

yep thats the mono shock. Now im curious if I would be able to use the stock vfr500 or vfr750 swing arm on the bike?

Well its fer'sale. 8 ]

I would not recommend using the VFR swing arm; it's much longer then the stock one which would really stretch out the wheel base and muck up the handling.

My seat will be angled somewhat..... I will post pics once I am able to have my buddy weld my hoop on... I need to clean the frame up as well......

I think that the original cafe racers had the straight tank and seat line didn't they?. I have seen some that the tank angles and the seat does also to make a V in the middle and it just doesn't look right IMHO.

A lot of them have that line. Another thing in those picture is looking like the tank sits on the seat. Personally I like when the ass end is up like this. I also read that when the back is higher the handling is better in the turns.
