Why not just take out your nice engine, and sell the rolling frame to someone who wants the gsxr front-end/cafe thing?  Most of the work toward that end has all ready been done.

That was an idea Jerry but ends up the frame I picked up and spent 300 to powder coat is severely tweaked. I thought this after sitting on it once assembled.  Pic below shows the messed up neck.

Not a big deal as some may have seen the two 550s I recently picked up. I love the love of the 550F so since this is technically a 550F engine I am going to drop it into this bad boy.

No alterations so if anything ever goes wrong I will drop the original engine in. I was able to remove the engine and now she waits to be implanted......

I am currently waiting for the DMV to send me paperwork to allow me to swap the title from the engine to the frame. This weekend I should have a runner.

I guess Wisconsin also titles the engine -- as here in Cal.  It makes engine swapping a PITA.

HMM legal weed!!>??? Do you need a medical card to purchase this mysterious "legal weed"?

No worries as I wil swap out to tapered bearings in the neck. I think I will hold off on the fork seals as these do not leak and I want to use  gold valve emulators???? I think that's what they are called.

I think it's just plain legal in Washington, but regulated insomuch as it affects your motor skills.  You can still get a DUI/DWI.

Hey Nick,

I hate the two steps forward, one step back.  How many times have I been there?

How's the search for a replacement frame going?

I can see you are using the time productively on the forks.  The 77-78 forks are easier to source a fork brace -- the legs are slightly longer than the earlier models (which are a PITA to fit BOTH the fork brace and fender).

The engine is out of the 550F. Tires are at the shop getting mounted. Hopefully I can attempt to get a roller done today. All balls bearings in the neck and the bearings for the wheels will be done hopefully today to accomplish a roller.

Got more then a roller. Pretty much all complete for the time being. I can't figure out why the electric starter isn't working. Maybe I pulled a wire out from inside the control. Member Hellraiser (eric) came by and helped me put her back on two wheels.

Member Cal patiently talked me through checking each wire... sigh nothing!

Good news is I attempted to start it by jumping the solenoid and she turns over!

If you look closely you can see MRiecks great head work!

Hopefully tomorrow I can hear her come to life then it's onto coating the tank!

It's the F model. That wires are under the coils. It's helps keep the birds nest at a minimum having those wires down there.

We have a runner!  I won't share the gory details of what I had to do to get it running but she runs. Only on 2 and 3 though. Even swapped out to the dyna coils and still only 2 and 3 fire. I will go through all the wiring tonight after fish fry.
