Who has Cycle X Race cut gears cb750
« on: June 16, 2013, 04:37:55 PM »
Who here is currently running Cycle X Race cut gears in their CB750?  I want a race cut transmission and would like to give Cycle X a try, but will probably go with fastbygast if no one here is running Cycle X.

I can't see any problems with Kens {cycleX} back cut gearbox, if you have any doubts, send Mike Rieck a pm and ask him, he talks to Ken every week and uses a lot of his stuff... ;)  I'm a fussy bugger and would use one without question.... ;)

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

Are these what went into the Cycle-X race bike?  If so that would be good enough for me.  I love to be able to get the same parts over the counter that went into that bike.  It is legend.

Thanks John this helps alot!  I have searched the forum and haven't really gotten any feedback this is what I want to hear.  So no slipping out of gear?  What kind of setup are you running?

Not since the gears were cut. Before it was cut it had a false neutral problem and would occasionally pop out of gear. It's a standard 750K gear set, track use only.

FbyG probably does them for Ken.
He does the in house as far as I know Brent. I'll ask just to verify but I think he has a mill dedicated to gear work.

Cycle X offers them at different prices on the site vs eBay.
Wonder what the difference is?
FbyG more or less money?

I need a set one, as they are the next thing on my list.

Looks like he offer 3 different prices $99 for a gear, $199 for gears 2,3,4 and $289 drop and go.  I was considering  the $199 and assembling myself, but am unsure if I can remove the bearings without damaging them.

Seems like a great deal if it can stand up at the track should work ok on the street?  I will be placing an order once I figure out the best route to take.  For the price seems like great insurance.
