Finally got another bike...not a SOHC4
« on: August 04, 2006, 06:09:58 AM »
But it is a honda!  1984 Nighthawk 650.  28,xxx on the odometer and currently not running.  Guy threw in a brand new battery, but he knew nothing about bikes and just left sit all winter so the carbs are going to need a good going through.  I like the look of the bike, pretty sharp.  If anyone knows anything about these bikes or a source of some good info (besides the clymers) I would appreciate it!  Just thought I would share!

Good looking bike. I always liked the Nighthawks. I'd like to know about that Old Smobile behind it though.  ;)

The olds is my car I had in High school.  71 Cutlass Supreme 2 door hardtop.  Body is falling apart from sitting for a few years.  Tranny was done a couple years ago and 600 miles into the new tranny the top end went.  Just finished rebuilding it, and found the frame is rusting, so that project is on hold now (too many projects!!)

I understand about the projects. I had my high school car ('69 Torino) until 2 years ago. I was 75% done with the engine when I got married, had kids, bought a house, etc., etc. Never finished it - just sat in the garage.  :( I realized when it was leaving on the trailer that I had owned that car for 1/2 my life. If you really like the car, fix it before you get too many other projects. Just a little advice from an old fart...  :D

Definitely fix the car. When I got married, I had s 69' roadrunner copra and she had a 69' roadrunner hdtp (that's how we met). Shortly after getting married, we didn't think we could handle pymnts on both so, guess which one had to go. Mine, of course (her had less miles on it and would be paid off sooner) We've been married about 35 years now and about 15yrs ago, we sold the other one. Now, as we look back, we both wish we'd done things differently and kept both the cars. Ahhhh---
