Finally finished...at least for now
« on: June 20, 2013, 08:04:10 AM »
I just finished with final carb synch and she is running like a top.  I wanted to thank everyone at SOHC who help me take this old bike to a basically a brand new one.  I originally started this bike to get my wife excited about riding.  She wanted to get her own bike and is partial to the cafĂ© look.  After working through the tuning I've become pretty attached to it myself.  Thanks everyone!

Looks like that picture was taken at "Bike's on Ice" Father's Day.  I was disappointed that there were not more vintage bikes there.

Robbo-It's funny you recognized that.  The show sucked from my perspective.  It was basically was a glory fest of late model Harleys with tons of bolt on crap.  I rolled the Honda out at 11:00 and went for a ride down Cape.  I'm starting a 1970 shovelhead build and didn't even find any knowledgeable guys to talk with concerning that project.  Lots of middle age guys with pirate scarfs wrapped around their heads and bad-ass vests.

this sums up the Ohio Bike Week event we had a couple weekends ago.   I rode 140 miles round-trip to see a bunch of brand new harleys.  i don't know how anyone found thier bikes there -- except for a very small fraction, it was a sea of stock sadness.   there were a few real old bikes, and i did see an early-80s DOHC honda with a CBX front end and a harley rear.

PS -- your [wife's] bike looks great!  nice work.  :)

I got it from MotoGP Werks.  There are a few members here who have them.  The quick release header and pipe are not so "quick release", but I think it looks cool.  The fit and finish are well worth the $500 cost and I love the sound that comes out of it.  I have a full Muzzy system on my 12r and this little Honda growls just like that beast at the higher revs.
