Trouble starting, electrical issues
« on: June 20, 2013, 05:01:54 PM »
Newly rebuilt engine. Cb750f 78'. The starter motor cranks, but no bang. I have fuel, and air, I have spark on 1 and 4, nothing on 2 and 3. I swap my point leads, I get spark on 2 and 3. I bypassed the wiring harness, still same problem. Just replaced the points and condensers, both coils are working.

Any thing I'm missing?

Bad condenser on 2,3? 2,3 points grounded? Both can be checked with a multimeter.

I'll check the points again tomorrow, but it all looked correct when i was prodding around with a multimeter. I checked the wires for continuity, and no problem there.

Just replaced the condenser, and when i swap the points i get spark on 2 and 3. The condenser works, the coils work I just can't get 2 and 3 to work.
