I guess I should change my vote now - but oh well  ;D

I usually do "the wave" to whatever bike I see, but I will admit, I dont go out of my way to give it
to scooter people. Come to think of it, out of ALL the scooters I have passed, I dont think i have ever seen one of them give ME the wave.

Whats up with that ??

I don't wave to scooters because 99% of them around here are spoiled little 12 year-old punks with their helmets (if wearing one) perched on top of their heads. I've never gotten a wave from a scooter rider, but if I do I'll wave back. Maybe.  ;)

Hey some of them things are interstate capable.

I guess for me it depends on the situation, not the model of bike or even the type.

I will wave at scooters, they might not be bikers but it is still 2 motorized wheels.

Now if I am threading traffic, I dont usually wave, unless I have a small clear spot. Or if I am going around a corner or way on the right hand side of multi-lane road. I need my hands or they would not see me anyways.

I find the Harley crowd to be the worst!! No matter how many times I wave to someone riding a $30K piece of butt jewerly....they will always give that....."i'm the #$%*" look. So....I make it a point to wave and if there is no return wave.........I make sure the middle finger is up before they pass.

I will wave to everyone on 2 wheels......but when a Harley comes that middle finger is ready.

600cc scooter??? ???

I've seen 500cc scooters, here's one example. As far as I'm concerned, they face the same risks as anyone else on two wheels. ;)

cmorgan,

Actually, I was not fishing.  I agree with most of TwoTired's philosophy.  Without getting too into depth, we would have a much happier nation if people left their attitudes at home.

I only wave back... often just a head nod... used to wave at everyone but we've got a lot of Harley snobs around here who'd be playin' a roll, and I'd been tempted to flip 'em all off... but I keep my cool  8)

I don't see too many scooters around here, I wave to everyone with two wheels and a motor.  I agree that it seems the flashier the bike the less likely the guy or girl is to wave.  People ridding old snotters are like me, happy to be running and riding, they always wave first or atleast back.

wave??? Throw Rocks!!!!!  ;D Really I do wave to everyone, even the hateful Harley riders. I figure those who get a superiority complex over a bike need a life. I figure they believe their bike is the only kind in the world, this hides the embarassment of a dumb purchase as they had no choices.  ::)

I'm a wave initiator.....no one gets to beat me to the cheery arm wave. I'll wave at anyone, and if they choose not to respond....I'll wave at anyone.

Coming home today the cruiser crowd were in good wave-return-mindset; it was the adventure touring crowd who didn't have the energy to lift their hands off the 'bars to respond!

I'm a high waver, so there is no doubt about it! Don't go fast enough for any loss of control issues.

Out here in Calif most every one waves (except the scooter ppl).  The Harley crowd does not hold contempt for the import crowd (I own 1 of each).  They are into the ride, not so much the machine.
