  • Never sold my 1978 750K, looking for a good home.
Hello from the Midwest, Wichita, Kansas to be exact.

My brother and I bought 2 black 750Ks. Dealer gave us a little off. We rode together many years. My brother got tire of his and sold it.

I never sold my 1978 750K, just parked it in the garage one winter.  I kept moving it from one garage to another as I moved.  Decided it was time to clean out the garage so my wife can put her new car in it. Getting ready for a garage sale for next month, put the 750K on Craigslist to sell it, then took it right back off. Mine,  no one else will ride it.

So now I have to make even more room in the garage, got to have space to work on the scoot. The bike was last tagged in 1988, so it has seen many winters inside while it was waiting for me to get back on the road

Lots of information here and on the web, reading and thinking, slowly getting the hardest parts first. I plan to keep the bike mainly stock, upgrading where it makes sense. I will also post my work.

I have to clean the tank, my bad. The the normal stuff: tires, new seat cover, carbs and whatever else needs to be done to get my 750 back on the road.

I have a question on side covers. I see some reproduction cover that were mounting with screws. Seems like a good idea. So does anyone know what is receiving the screws, the original grommets?

Also, I am thinking about cleaning the carbs with Pinesol or boiling water, then whatever it takes to make them look good, without polishing.

Things are so much easier with the Internet to find information. On the other hand, my MC parts store I used in the 80s is still around, happy about that.

Welcome!

There is a guy here who makes better than original side covers - in the for sale section.
