I got the paint off my tree with a drill and a "rust and paint stripper" wire wheel. Came off no problem.

hrrmmm,
seeeing as the paint already seems to be coming off of my top tree maybe I'll use the wire wheel method.  Aircraft stripper sounds like fun but I don't have any and I do have wire wheels... save's me some $$$ The dust kicked up is probably worse than the stripper in my margarita, however if I remember to wear a mask I'm sure I'll be alright.

Can't wait to see those rims on the bike!

PS what do you use to bake the paint on? an old kitchen stove would work I guess abut I'm guessing you suspend them w/ wire or something so you don't get rack marks on the side of your rim?

I have been asked by some people about the reactivity of gas to the paint on the tank. Seeing that the tank is lacquer, once it has hardened completely it will not be reactive to gas. Plus I use decent carnuba wax to give it just a bit of added protection.

Here is some pics of last nights glassing of the seat pan and frame mods.

Anyone want to buy a huge bucket (bike) of parts? I do believe we will be liquidating our SOHC stuff. I just might take the time and sell my K5. Tired of defending these bikes.

I got $6 for the bucket of parts and I'll make it $7 if you throw in the trophy that you won at that bike show. You know, the one that you were pictured with standing NEXT to the trophy table with while the presenters focused on everything but you. ;D

What has happened, man?

Been away for the weekend and clearly some #$%* has gone down during that time. :(

This "community" needs people like you, ElCheapo! We all need parts, knowledge and inspiration!

Keep your business running, I think everyone will back it up.... :)

Cheers
Daniel

Darn, I guess we'll have to find another supplier for flaming skull gauge faces.
I think this post has something to do with his 'tude.

Guess it doesn´t matter what happened.

What matters is that we all want ElCheapo to stay in (SOHC) business, don´t we?

ElCheapo-- I just got into the scene and like what you have to say. Don't leave now. I still have a lot to learn, from you and numerous others.

Really just ranting, the stuff has hit the fan. I almost lost my ebay account and got burned on part that was in transit internationaly. Then people cried about my posts on it and could have lost my sohc account. No need to comment on this, I would hate to have this thread killed. I guess I am not for the thin skinned. ;D

We are going to complete the build. Just got the seat on it today. Real slick, looks like WWII Bomber Jacket material as well as the grips. Boxed in the frame and got the swing arm all ready to go. The only details I have left to work out are lacing the rims and finding a 500 or 550 caliper. Considering cutting the srock 500 mount to accept a 750 caliper. However this is fab we just can't do in house as I cant weld aluminum yet with my equipment. Might be time for another run across the state to my uncles to fab the piece.

I will stick here as long as people will have me. Like a disease  ;)

Might I add I also did photography for 2 weddings and a senior portrait in this time frame too. It has been a crazy month.

Thanks big time for all the votes of confidence....
