Newbie introduction....and gallery
« on: August 09, 2006, 04:55:34 PM »
Hey guys.....some of you already know me as the guy posting in the tech forum with newbie questions, but I'm new to the forum.

I recently purchased what appears to be a 1970 or 71 CB750 and I'm already VERY happy with my purchase. It was typical "garage find" that a guy had sitting up for a few years. He said he sold it because building his airplane for the past 3 years had robbed him of any time needed to maintain his beloved CB. (engineers ALWAYS seem to take the best care of their stuff don't they?)

Anyway....it's my fourth Honda street bike and my current favorite. I also have a 1964 Superhawk 305, and a 73 CB350. I know they aren't SOHC 4's, but I'm quite happy with them regardless.

I started a gallery as directed and posted it here:  http://www.sohc4.us/gallery/v/members/personal/shiftyal/

I also added pics of my 'other' types of bikes if anyone is interested. I've gone overboard lately on bikes, but they are SO much easier than my cars and more fun at the end of the day as well.

I live in Austin, TX and would likely enjoy riding with anyone who has a passion for these old bikes.

Thanks in advance for everyone's guidance and enthusiasm for helping fellow enthusiasts like me.

              Welcome Alan,

Enjoyed the pictures. Amongst my "Project bikes are a 66' CB77 Super Hawk
that someone has put a CA motor in, a 74' Hodaka Road Toad that needs restoring (along
with a bore job and a new piston) and no British bikes.  The Triumph is nice but, I'm more
interested in the Nortons. Stick around an you'll find gobs of info and advice here and
you'll probably find times that you can share with us also. So, you see, it's a give and take
              situation.
                                                                Later on, Bill

The car I will NEVER sell, but it honestly isn't getting as much attention these days because summers in central Texas are just too damn hot to sit in a car with black interior top down and no AC.

Thanks for the compliments. I have been lucky with my bike purchases thus far and the more I have the more I seem to want....such is the disease I have caught.  ::)
