quick question about cb750 frame kit
« on: July 01, 2013, 05:08:06 PM »
installing a frame kit on cb750..................does the "triangle" bracing serve any real purpose or can it be left out?  thanks

I think it's there for a reason for the bracing but lots of bikes have been run for years with no bracing at all and the lower tubes cut. I'm picky so I welded some back into my bike with the kit. But then I own a tig welder and can use it too.
My opinion is if Honda didn't think it was needed they would surely have saved the money and left it out. There were things left out to save $$$, like the lugs on the right fork but no brake there. The engineers lost to the bean counters but left the lugs there in case we figured it out.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

thanks.  have seen pics with the triangle completely removed, seen pics with just the bottom brace connecting the side tubes, and have seen em with triangle bolted back together.  reckon i will leave it in then.
