Who here took my 550 for a joy ride!!!
« on: July 02, 2013, 02:33:02 PM »
OK you guys who was it that nabbed my 550 when I wasn't looking and cruised through the West Virginia turnpike on it without paying any toll fees and parked it back here before I knew it was gone?!! :o  Before I go any further I'm not making this up but I've got a $73.50 fine in the mail today from the West Virginia Parkways Authority claiming that on May 19 my 550 was observed and recorded by the WV Parkways Authority for failure to pay the specified toll. SAY WHAT?!!! I haven't been out of the state of Indiana this year and the 1 and only time I've ever been in WV was back in 1976 on vacation with my parents when I was a kid. The license number matches the plate that's on the bike and the plate is on the bike as I type this so WTH is going on?!!

My wife was the first to get the letter so she called the telephone # to inform them that we haven't been any where near WV and pretty damn sure neither has the 550. They said they'd investigate it further and call back

Plate forgery must be popular in WVa...

Hear about the missle that hit West Virginia? Did $10M worth of improvements.

How is a Texas Tornado and a West Virginia divorce alike?
In both someone is going to lose a trailer.

Having lived in Ohio for 19 years I heard lots of West Virginia jokes...

Good luck getting it sorted out.

It's all cool now. After my wife talking to the WVPA on the phone plus me sending them a rather grumpy email (moody but not obscene email) it's all been dismissed.

Had the same thing happen to me from the Ann Arbor Michigan city police. Sent me a ticket for a parking ticket. Plate I had was the same number as was on the ticket, but I had the plate on a pickup truck that was used for strictley hauling wood out of Manistee National Forest! Aint no way that wood hauler was going 300 miles downstate...LOL
Police Dept was nice enough to drop the ticket...
