Drewski, You should hook up with team 6 from the 2013 Relay Rally. We are planning to ride counterclockwise around Michigan starting sometime in mid to late August. I am planning to have my 550 cobbled together by then, but worst case my Goldwing is ready as a backup.

Here is the team thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=121301.0

You should also consider heading up to Rockerbox in Milwaukee August 3rd. It's a great show and there should be a bunch of SOHC4 guys there, although sadly not me this year as I have a prior commitment that day.

Danny, so weird that you say that! I'm actually planning a trip for the second weekend of August around Lake Michigan. Maybe I can rearrange some plans to coordinate, we'll see.
I'm planning that for the cbr1000 though!

If it's sorted the 550 is suprisingly good.

I rode my '77 with the team in the first rally in 2011. I did the full circle from Chicago up to the UP and down Wisconsin to home, 1420 miles in 6 days. My only concession to the long trip was a small removable windshield. No problems with the highway and averaged high 40's MPG wise.

That's my plan actually, Chicago, though MI to the u.p. then home though WI. I know the cb would easily do it but its not done yet.

Well that's a great ride. I really enjoyed it and definitely plan to hit the UP again.
