Yes, obviously verify the buyers identity but more importantly have witness or two to corroborate that the buyer actually passed the bills.

I'm so paranoid, I bought one of those pens that you check the bills with.   I also discreetly photograph their vehicle and themselves and anyone that comes with them.    Been ripped off once.   ONCE.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

list the bike as stolen
when he tries to register it it will come up as stolen

Here in Florida, if you are quick enough you run to a tag agency and get a duplicate title. Then when the crook tries to register the bike he finds his title is invalid.
After that you report the bike as stolen.
