Wow that's bad to the bone. And to think batteries are getting better all the time.
Having been to the top of Pike's Peak, I am very impressed with those skilled enough to challenge that road. I stopped part way up and peeked over the side; !@#$%^& it's a long drop!  :o

I had the chance to run the 2011 event, last year with a dirt section, on a 450 supermoto. I encourage anyone to try it, it was a blast. I was far from the fastest on the hill but that didn't stop me from having a great time.
But those are crazy fast times now that the dirt is gone. And what a huge time gap from electric to gas bike. Crazy!

I haven't been following PPIHC like I used. I was surprised when I saw Sebastian's run that the whole course is now paved. When did that happen?

For anyone planning to ride to the top...............IMO the BEST time is to be waiting at the entrance gate in the AM.  No downhill traffic to worry about :) :) :) :)

This past year.

Do they just race race to the end of the pavement, or is the entire road now paved? It's been a number of years ('96) since I've been there.

The entire road is paved. As I understand it, the road had to be completely paved in order to satisfy the greenie lawsuit about run off from the dirt road.
