Cold front? Is that like rain?

jas<< keep your eye out for a rear flap for the CB160. It looks like I have everything else.

tt

Will do.    You do realize that I have two CB160's of my own, and no mud flaps.   Just saying...  ;)

So, you'll definitely get the third one that I find.   ;D

That is another part that I wish David Silver Spares would make.

jas67<< Bought everything today. Bolt, pin and metal strap with long cotter pins. Now I have to find the rear mud flap and should have everything I need to start.

It's the same sized battery that a CB175 takes.   I know this, because my one CB160 was a runner when I bought it, and that battery is now in the CB175 that I just bought.

Congrats on the S90!   That'll look great parked next to your CB160.
Now you just need a CB77 to complete the trifecta.

Well, well. Took the better part of six days but I received a text message at 2240 hrs. that the S90 deal was in fact..in the trailer.

Now we wait for the report concerning condition of each and two years of parts buying with the deal.

I think it's pretty safe to say this running bike looks good already.

The front fender is wrong so it will need replaced. The rear fenders on most of these smaller Honda's had a mud flap.

Thankfully this has one and on the CB160 the brackets. Harder to find brackets than the flap.

I know what my agreed upon offer was but Corky is the salesman. We might have gone up a little due to the fact new OEM parts from over two years of shopping were included. A couple I'm aware of are: New OEM chrome fender. Around $350 easy. New OEM fuel tank with the protective coating still inside. $400 plus easy. New OEM exhaust. Priceless. New rims. Sprockets, carburetor kits, gasket kits etc.

Also in the deal is a roller S90 with motor, forks, seat, fenders etc.

Waiting "on the call" from Corky with details. Not sure of what the "final" deal was. All parts, no parts, one bike or two. If I know Corky it's all in the trailer.  ;)

jas<< I'll order parts..you find me a flap. Hard to believe there are six parts just for that mounting bracket.

Yes, that is way more complicated that it needs to be.   I will certainly keep you in mind for the flap.   I've got another friend looking for them too.    Keep an eye out for nice mufflers for me if you would.

BTW -- I made an offer on a '66 CA160 and a '59 C100 yesterday too.     We'll see what happens with those.   It was kind of an low-ball offer, as I already bought two bikes this week.

jas<< Will do. I can't help but think other model flaps will work. Just in my bucket list. I don't even have the bike and $600 in parts already bought or ordered.  ;D

Steve-o << As I said at the beginning of this post that the smaller cc Honda's are like hot potatoes right now. I have seen prices jump on these in just the last three months. Easy to work on, simple, plenty of parts, (made millions) and the baby boomer generation wants them. 80 to 100 mpg, light, easy to park and run errands.

Corky flips 50% profit on these without batting an eye. Amazing what he sells them for but they are clean and done right. The S90 model has been harder to find and the prices are really climbing on these. I feel that I could double my money on the red one easy this Winter when the Snow Birds are here.

CT 90 bikes are the rage. Remember, I sold mine in four hours. CM 90, Passports, CB160, 50 cc models. Hotcakes!

So, if you want a S90 better hurry. You will never lose on these. This was my first motorcycle in 1965 only black. I agree. Red is way better looking.

Actually, I've already run out of room in my profile.   I don't even have all my bikes listed.

I'm up to, I think, 27 now.  Many of those I plan on flipping to help support the ones I'm keeping.

So far, the ones I intended on never selling are:
'76 CB400F, '70 CB175 (the one I just got), '68 CL175 (the ebay one from last night), '67 CL160, and one of the '67 CB160s (I've got one black, and one that will be red).

The list of might keep/might flip bikes:
'75 CB550, '74 CB350 Four, '70 CL175

The rest will eventually be sold (this is not all of them):
'73 CL450 (nearly ready to sell) ,'75 CB400F, '68 CL175 (X2), '76 CB360T, '74 CL360, '75 ST90, '73 ST90, and numerous CT70s.

Some bikes that are on my bucket list (some of the same as yours):
CB77
CBX
'88-'90 CB-1, S90
RC30 (in my dreams)

Other's I'd buy if a nice one shows up at a very reasonable price:
CL77 (these damned things are just way too expensive if nice)
CL125A (passed up a real nice one last year for $1,200, but a friend got it)
CL90
CBR400RR
CBR250RR (4-cylinder)
NS400R / NSR400
NSR250R
Yamaha RZ350 Kenny Roberts Replica

OK, back to TT's "have trailer, will travel" thread already in progress...

Not available from Honda. At least not where I shop.

I'm sure you could use a different one but I'm a OEM guy if I can find them. There is only one left on flea bay. Had three.

You can see that the bolt (10) threads through the pin (9). Yeah, over designed this huh?  ::)

jas67<< Just received my engine gasket kit fomr flea bay seller dream65. This is a comple kit right down to the exhaust gaskets. Even has the hard to find intake manifold seals. You can buy the ones to the carburetors but not the ones that go to the cylinder head.

Very nice kit for $35.00. Ordered carburetor kits from him also but I don't use the jets. Stick with OEM.

OK, report in. This took seven days and Corky said the seller was, well weird.

1965 fired up on first kick. Very nice condition. Titled but he signed it years ago. Go figure.

The 1968 is all there but in boxes. New tires, rims in great shape. BOS  We are going to get two Wyoming titles.

Boxes of OEM and other parts. Corky will spread them out and send me some pictures. The OEM tank is brand new but has dings in the chrome panels. No biggie. Can be sold without. 1968 OEM exhaust. Spotless. OEM chrome fender. Spotless. OEM wiring harness, carburetor kits new in box. Much more.

$1400 for the whole deal plus transport and $200 for title work. OEM parts, if I sell, will more than help pay half of this if not more.  ;) Money will be tied up for a bit.

I now have four projects this Fall. CB350G first so as to flip. 1965 S90, general cleanup and ride. CB160 will take several months and last I'll rebuild the 1968 S90 for resale which will involve a lot of time. Corky said it was worth doing as most all the parts are there.

I don't know anyone locally, but I do occasionally see an S90 on N. Forge Rd just North of Palmyra (which is were I actually live).     IIRC, the bike is black.      He usually has a big train of traffic behind him, because most traffic on this road is doing 50 MPH, and he gets slowed to about 35 MPH the hills.

I've been hoping to see him stopped somewhere with it so that I can stop and talk to him.

That could be him.  I know he has one that is a daily rider and he also has one that was built for his son(don't remember what motor was put in but it was way bigger than a 90cc 8))    He has more though.  I do know he works with the kids at the school and uses the S90 as projects for the kids to learn a skill...Larry

Let me know if any of you S90 Guys see a good cylinder and piston for sale that has the offset carb mount on your travels, part hunts. Mine came with a freshly bored I believe 110 (?) cylinder, new piston and completely redone head with new valves that he was going to use as a 'big bore' top end. No offset.  Eric

What year(s) had the offset? Early wasn't it? Air cleaner was also different. Are you keeping the big bore kit.

Since the 68 will need completely redone it might be fun to build something different.

The front fender is wrong so it will need replaced. The rear fenders on most of these smaller Honda's had a mud flap.

After reading this comment, I had another look at your CB160 picture and think the other item "wrong" on it that you were originally referring to, is the front fender.  It looks pretty good, but I believe the original projected more from the brackets, and covered more of the tire as a result.
