Everybody looks for one. That's why they are hard to find.  ;)

tt
And why they are expensive...

That's what I thought, and 1 reason I was focused on buying an H1.  But when I couldn't find the right H1, starting looking for the Z, and found this one pretty quick and jumped on it. Then saw another listed in San Antonio, could have saved the $500 shipping charge!

Did you make an offer on this? Sweet bike...

http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/3924986037.html

We did not contact him. The seller removed the price early this morning. Was at $3100.00 OBO.

Painted frame, wrong color etc. but the parts were a plus.

tt

Email sent today. No responce. Basically said "get real". What would you really take for it.

That's my new thing. Ya gotta "pop" their balloon heads. Morons.

Ok, you want a Z, John Boy?  I found you a great candidate for a stock restore, your specialty.  I can find you the pipes and seat, no prob.
I know, it's not in your target area, I'll even find you a shipper...

http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mcy/3926010763.html

Once restored, here is the asking price. (And I've seen them sell from very close to that)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawasaki-Other-1972-73-Kawaski-Z1-Near-Mint-/321160983169?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item4ac6afb281&vxp=mtr#ht_500wt_106

Want me to call him too?  Bet it sells quick.

Nope. Pass. Keep looking. Way high for a bike. I'll buy a MG Cali Tourer.

I know where one is located. 40 miles from me.

You won't get that one for less than $10K and the MG is $15K.
Scratch Z1 off your list.

That's beautiful. Just so you know, that is not a Z1. Price is reflected.

Does anyone overseas know if this 1966 S90 was made for the UK market? I found a clean one 4 hours from me but the US models did not have:

High handle bars. (replaced?)
Turn signals. (could be option)
Reflector on front fender.
Chrome fenders were in 68.

Thanks.

Late bikes could have high handlebars, there were 3 types commonly seen, high low, and CL version with cross bar. High and low were factory.
Signals were available on international models and a option. Common on bikes bought by servicemen and brought back. My bike is a late 1970 production for US epa stds but it has signals, has a plate on right steering stem of fork... the members on Yahoo S90 group had never seen one that late nor the plate on the stem.
68 was late enough for chromed fenders, but 66 was too early for any market.  Chrome rear fender has two posts that insert into a rubber grommet for front of rear fender mount near chain height in center of frame, painted fenders attached with a bolt

Thanks David. Haven't heard back yet. I'll call and get more details and the history.

David,

Owner bought bike at an estate sale. Was not running but is now. Had to coat the tank. Bummer. Turns look factory correct if later years.

I'm thinking it's a 68/69 model but the numbers don't check. At least in my books.

He is getting me the engine number when he finds it.  ;D Frame is: S90-0820396. My book starts with S90-100001 for ALL years of production.

coated tank isn't end of world...
tag on harness below tank will give close match to year, about only way to narrow down year on s90 since bikes were often titled the year they were sold which didn't always correspond to model year.

Seller was told it was a 66. Not. I asked to check the tag but doubt he will do it. West Coast bike with the usual rust.

Turn signals appear to be correct for late years. Pics enclosed.

I 'm pretty sure it's a no sale at this time. He has in it more than it's worth to me.

Thanks David. Honda's are like buses to me. Another one will come along.

Yes, even had a OEM exhaust, never mounted. Sold on flea bay for $1700.00. If I can buy this for $700 I will however I will not do anything with it. Needs to much. Done with heavy builds.

I can shop for a clean bike for more money. I know what they can cost so it's worth it to me. NC21 still in picture, S90 is not.

Hoping I can pick something out of the 250 bike inventory up in Wyoming so I'm not looking hard for anything until after that. Motorcycles are like buses. Another will come along.
