Here's how Honda wants me to sit ....(****Photos omitted to save space)

Here's how I sit, a few inches back. My feet are less in a bind, and this feels "right" to me:

You're too tall, causes problems, as these "standard" bikes were made for the average Joe.

Yes...The average Joe in JAPAN. LOL..lol

No, actually they were designed for the American market first....

You're such a big dude... you should stretch the frame and make it a rigid and put a 6' long paughco front end on it and....

No, I'm kidding.

I am prob a foot shorter than you, but I LOVE the cheap EMGO "euro" bend bars on my cb500.  Low enough to be engaging, not so low as to be uncomfortable.

I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.

I agree. The CB750 was not made for Japanese size. My CB750 fits me like a glove...I don't want anything bigger. A 5'7 Japanese man would be a different story on this bike. I doubt that they would be able to flat foot it. 750 DOHCs they would have a much easier time on, but the classic SOHCs I bet these bikes are too big for them.

In-fact, I personally like the feel of smaller bikes, regardless of how I look.

The CB450 is the smallest vintage honda that I can go before I look ridiculous. I don't think I'm "too big" for the CB450 (it's rather comfortable, actually), but I certainly don't want anything smaller:

The CB125s I probably look like a clown on. I was driving it around the city and I didn't see anyone laugh at me though (besides Steve). :)

I use this one but it did require drilling and dremel work to open up for the wires

It is the ST1100 bend.  I am 5'11" or so.  No problems with numb hands, even on 500 mile days.

Fendersrule, your bike is very nice! The handlebars on your bike look very similar to the ones on my K8. Which, I was hoping to find information about stock bars rise, setback, and width for the K8. I've searched without any concrete information on the factory handlebar specs. I'm thinking that the bars on my K8 have been changed to accommodate the Vetter wind jammer. However, I'm unsure now that I look at the pictures you have posted of your handlebars. Can anyone share any links to factory handlebar specs for the K8?

These aren't really close to stock looking but figured I'd throw out the idea. I've got Renthals on my bike, I went with the satin black but they come in an array of colors which I'm pretty sure you can get them in chrome to look a little more "stock". There's also a large choice of dimensions, these are the Streetfighter bars (height 100mm, rise 60mm, sweep 80mm, width 755mm)

There's quite a few other guys that are running similar Renthals, definitely gives the bike a particular look, not sure that it's something close to what you're going for.

Oh, as far as cables, the throttle cable length for these bars are perfect, all the wiring for the killswitch and so on is good, the only cable I need to adjust is the clutch (bit too long), but the PO had bars similar to what you have so I'm not sure if it's a longer cable. I'm about to replace that cable with an oem so we'll see. It's works perfectly but as you can see its just not as aesthetically pleasing as I'd like it to be.

Awesome color combo Canonball. I think those bars look ideal.

Thanks to Tews, I put on CB750 K1 bars. All the wiring is now in the bars. Installation took 2 pairs of hands and about 4 hours of time. There's lots of stuff to do, along with replacing the clutch cable. The cable is about 1.5" too long, but it still works great and is out of sight.

If I remember correctly, even the K7-K8 bars didn't have in-wire bars. Yet another "better than stock" retromod that I can check off.

I'd say this K8 is now finished. The goal was to make it classy like an old CB750.

Bike has finger prints and smudges all over it. Haven't washed it in 2 weeks, and it's dusty. But pictures give you an idea.

You are already there. BTW I haven't ever seen a green 78k model. I thought black and burgundy were stock? Any way your green paint looks original to me! Nice bike!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Thanks! I actually just sold that tank, got another one I'm thinking about doing a nice baby blue. Your bike is looking good, I like that green!
