650 parts, best to have on hand?
« on: July 19, 2013, 07:55:29 AM »
I have a 1981 cb650c.

Any idea of back up-parts to have on hand, or parts that should be pulled off a parts bike?

I know the stator's on these bikes are known to crap out fairly easily, but anything else?  Anything that is hard to find?

Please let me know know fellow 650 owners.

Thanks!
I want to learn.

I just bought and rebuilt a 1980 CB650C these past few weeks.  From that process, and for looking for parts, here would be my list:

- coils
- plug caps
- carbs
- isolators
- brake rotors
- gas tank
- seat

Hell, I would just keep the whole bike and pick parts as needed.  ;D

i have taken to calling my bike theseus. if you are not familiar with that paradox, read on

the gist is that you will at some point need everything. however, i have found most parts to be easily obtainable new from honda, and i have raided my parts bike down the frame.
