I learned something today..
« on: July 07, 2013, 11:45:33 AM »
Yeah, never to old huh?

Did you ever wonder why waffles have the topping on top and pancakes usually do not. (exceptions of course)

Well, it took me longer to clean the waffle maker than it did to fry bacon, mix waffle batter, make waffles and clean up the kitchen.

Blueberries go on top of waffles, inside pancakes.  :o :o :o

At least I can  ;D ;D ;D at myself. Bloody Mary's are helping however. A lot of them.  :P

The secret is a good spray of cooking spray on both sides before adding the batter.

A light coat of Canola oil spray, I don't taste it when I spray it.

Sam's Club and Costco and specialty cooking stores will carry a spay canola oil. You could use a trigger spray bottle filled with canola or other oil that doesn't give a flavor...

French toast or pancakes are easier than waffles if you have good timing for browning them...
Belgium waffles that are sweetened are really good though.

Don't let the batter dry on the counter either, it might take a wood chisel to remove it later.
