1980 CB650 Carb Floats
« on: July 11, 2013, 06:56:05 AM »
Guys,

Forgive me as I know this has probably been covered a thousand times, but I was not able to find my answer searching.

I am wondering WHERE on the floats you measure the 12.5 mm float level?  On the 750's it seems fairly straight forward since the bottom of the float is rounded, not flat like mine.

So, by looking a the picture I attached, do I measure the red, blue or green line for the 12.5mm?

Thanks!

OK.  So after a little more searching, I came across the diagram below.  This came from a German manual.  If I compare the diagram with the crappy service manual picture, it is inconsistent.  Just looking for input on which one is correct.  Or maybe it doesn't matter??

Thanks,
Jamie

At the end of the V of the float.. the blue part.. but after doing that, put the float bowl back on and check the height of the gas at the side. It should just reach the place where the bowl meets the body..

Hope this helps.

As I don't know either I ended up just using the clear tubing after my initial "looks good" set
