Honda CB 500/550 K 4-2 Mufflers

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a new goodlooking set of 4-2 mufflers for the CB 500/550 K. Something which goes in direction of a cafe style, not just horisontal straight type. Anyone spotted something nice? As I think 4-1 muffler leaves the left side of the bike too naked, I am tinkering of a 4-2 set.

This has often past my mind. I still have a very nice set of genuine 4-4, but for the future... who knows. I agree with you a 4-1 is far to naked. As far as 4-2, I remember some Italian manufacturers made them but I don't remember if it was Busso, Sito, Mecadapo (or was that Spanish?) or others. Maybe our Italian brothers at honda4fun know. http://www.honda4fun.com/ I don't expect one has to rejet for a 4-2, btw.

Mecadapo (or Sito) used to have 4-4 mufflers you could slide on the original headers. I helpt a friend putting them on his 550K3 and he was ever so pleased with them. We all know that mufflers do rust eventually but the headers can be kept tip top forever with just a minimal of effort. Recently on the German forum http://www.cbfourclub.de/ somebody asked for adresses for 4-4. If you're interested, it's under 500 Suche Adresse Auspuffhersteller  4 in 4.

Thanks for your updates, I will check out these links. Honda4fun I know well and I know the Italians produces some mufflers. I will browse and see what to find. I also hope that a 4-2 overrules any need for rejetting. I have 2 new 4-4 sets, but I have 3 bikes. One set will go for my CB 550 keeper, one for a CB 550 Police and If I go cafe on the last one, that would help me out.

Sorry for my late reply, Delta, been on holiday and busy at work.

I got one set of those 4-4 mufflers from an aquintance I met on eBay, another one I found on eBay. They were both about the same price, $1200.
