New from San Francisco
« on: July 22, 2013, 10:51:21 AM »
Hi everyone.
Been reading the forums for awhile. Joined a bit ago and now starting to feel confident here enough to start posting some.
I got my first bike a little over a year ago. 1971 CB 750 K1. I've loved SOHC CBs for a long time and was finally in the position to get one.
The PO replaced the front end with a CB1100 so it has dual front disks. Also used the longer swing arm from a 750 F1 (or so I was told) on the rear.
I've done some minor work work on it myself, H4 headlight upgrade, new mini gauges, replaced some wiring and rear brakes, but nothing too major otherwise.
Thanks for all the knowledge and inspiration on this forum!
Best,
Mike

Hey Mike, welcome to the forum.
I have a 1978 CB750 K8 in Pacifica. I have to say the riding around San Francisco, San Jose, and Fort Bragg is the best riding I have ever experienced. If you get a chance you may want to try the ride to the Lick Observatory out of San Jose. I think its like 14 miles of nothing but twisties. The view from the top of Lick is stunning to say the least. I will be driving my 1977 CB750 F2 from MN to San Francisco in about a month. Can't wait to drive with my son who will be on my K8. Love these old girls.
All the best
