Clutch basket spring tension
« on: July 15, 2013, 05:44:47 PM »
Under the plate that holds the clutch basket on, there are 4 springs under 4 bolts. Do I tighten these 4 bolts all the way down?

Yes, tighten them all the way down.  Torque them to the recommended torque for that size bolt (6mm).  Honda manuals give a torque requirement for a lot of things, some manuals don't have a torque requirement for certain bolts, but there is a section showing general torque values based on the bolt size.  I don't remember what the values are off hand but I think for 6mm, it's around 8ft/lb.

I don't have a torque wrench. Guess it will just be a bit more than finger tight. :)

Thanks for the help.

go slow and a little at at time on each bolt or you can crack the plate.
