Tell her its therapy and it relaxes you and makes you a better husband and person.  And it is much cheaper than the $250 an hour that the shrink would charge you per session.  And since you can't perform your husbandly duties if you are all tense and angry, she will benefit hugely from your self therapy sessions  in the shop.

My wife and I have an agreement.

I can bring home any rust hunk I want, as long as it has a place with a roof over it.   Nothing in the yard.
Our bills get paid.
She can always park her car in the garage.
And, I say nothing about her shoe collection.

It's a three and a half car garage and still not large enough.

Many bikes can always be a problem, but there is no such thing as too many bikes... so no problem, right?
     

I have found that if she's complaining about 7 you need to get 7 more, she will come to understand that you can't help it and all the #$%*in' in the world won't change it. As far as addictions go it's not as expensive as Gambling,coke, decent weed, high priced hookers, or some serious drinking.
  As for not getting enough attention: There's football ,soccer,basketball, hockey,baseball, tennis , all kinds of car ,truck and bike races.
  As for dangerous: there is sky diving, mountain climbing, bungee jumping , ultra lights and fight club.
           WHAT WOULD THIS WOMAN HAVE YOU DO? She knows you're in the garage not robbing liquor stores, picking up strange women, out in the bar all night, wrecked on the highway , or anything else that would be considered worrysome.
  I think the real issue here has nothing to do with motorcycles, she wants something else from you, you are going to have to ask her what it is that you can do for her to make her happy , and at some point she will ask the same to you(reciprocate) and you'll know what to tell her.I think that this problem is solved.

Hey rb - good post above but by the sounds of it, I would put money on you being single!

What else would a wife want you to do?  Try shopping for furniture, groceries or landscape supplies. Or going out to a movie, lunch, brunch, dinner and or a movie.  Go to church.
Watch The Bachorlette on TV or any number of Home improvement shows, house hunter international, pull weeds in the lawn, paint the bedroom or water the plants on the back deck. Or go over to her girlfriends house for dinner, the one with the idiot husband.

Personally, I'd rather work on my bikes and go for a ride!

Stev-o, You would have lost money on that bet , married almost 30 years.
 I take her out to dinner 2 or 3 times a week.
 I don't expect her to cook dinner for me, I get my own dinner, i cook ,make sandwiches,or go out,she likes to eat stuff that I won't eat, so it's easy.
We do our own laundry since I shrunk all her best clothes almost 20 years ago.
There's no way I would watch  the bachlorette but will sit through some DYI shows.
I'm not good in the garden, been known to run a lawn tractor through it , so she don't ask
I did fall for the let's go shopping for a new couch, didn't know it meant sand the floors,remove the sand paint ceiling, paint the walls ...She got the paint, I painted the walls, didn't like the color so I repainted them something I liked when she was at work.Boy was she surprised!
 And I don't mind her girlfriends , some are divorced , and most have  nice t*ts.
Sometimes she thinks I'm difficult, but I'm just me. And I remind her that she's a big girl she can do what she wants I'm not here to stand in her way.
  and there was some questioning when I bought my 7th bike,after the next 7 she kinda run out of things to say about it, so I ve had some experience in this area.

My wife knows this.  She likes to read and garden, I like to turn wrenches.

I'm a very lucky man.  We just moved about a year ago.  When we found this house, we knew it was the one.  It has a two car agarage by the house and an extra three car garage.  The PO used it as a home office, so one stall is walled off with Heat and A/C.

My wife has been kind enough to bring me a sandwidge and will sit and listen to me go on about what I'm working on.

I just let her know what each one is worth. She doesn't complain as she just sees $$ signs then. Although she does complain I never sell them but I do think she secretly hopes I go first.

+1, Amen to that. My wife is definitely a keeper as well. My wife will even grab a lawn chair and set in the garage reading a book while I work on something just so she can chat with me.

4 bikes and 5 boats....no complaints yet.   She has even come to accept the project  bike in the porch.  She does alot of private tutoring in the summer and when the kids come to the house they think she is really cool to have a motorcycle in the porch.   The 750 has been down with a flat for a week...just been too busy with work.  Tonite she asked when I was going to fix it so we could go for a ride.  Nag, nag, nag..... so tonite I just finished putting in the new tube so we can go out tomorrow evening.  Yeah, she's a keeper.

Rodger,  I quietly changed my late wife's attitude and outlook towards my bikes.  When I sold one of my projects I picked the right time to present her with a crisp $100 bill to spend on herself as this was part of the profit on the bike.  Amazing how the prospect of a new pair of shoes or new dress everytime hubby sells one of those bikes can alter a femine opinion.

Took the wife out for her ride late tonite.  It's really hot here 98 and strong wind out of the south.  She put on her jeans and a tight t-shirt...no bra and we went for ice cream at Sabastion Joe's  and then around the Lakes.  Stopped at Calhoun and we walked out and sat at the end of the large floating dock.  The waves where really coming in and it was like walking on the deck of a ship at sea.   Home now , it's getting late.......one more job for me to finish......    Like I said before...she's a keeper.

Last week at dinner, my wife said she wanted to go for a bike ride and get ice-cream.  Later as I was pulling the motorcycles out of the garage she came out wearing shorts and a t-shirt holding her bicycle helmet.  She said "I guess I need to be clearer on what I meant"  we both had a chuckle, then some exercise and ice-cream.
