Need Axle Nut Sizes for CB750K2
« on: July 17, 2013, 09:31:34 AM »
Longtime member here from the old Greenspun forum days.  After storing for 5+ years, I am finally going to fly out to Atlanta to pick up my 1972 CB750K2 and ride it all the way back to Los Angeles.  It was stored properly and I already have the new tires/battery delivered, but I am trying to determine what tools I need to send ahead.

Specifically, I wanted to know if anybody could let me know exactly what metric sockets I need to remove the axle bolts on a stock 750K2.  I believe that the rear is a 26mm, but I am not sure, and I do not want to ship a full set of 1/2" oversize sockets, since that gets heavy /expensive!

If somebody can tell me exactly what large sockets I need to remove the wheels, I would be very grateful.  I am already bringing along the small mm sizes for my 3/8" ratchet -- just need to sizes for the large nuts.

Thanks!

You don't really need sockets. The tool kit has in it a box-type wrench for the axle nut but I've often just used a large adjustable wrench.
