RAT is the Way and the Light. Nice work.

In the immortal words of some sign I saw on an old Triumph race bike, "clean don't make it go faster."

Well, unless we're talking carbs or oil lines. But you know what I mean.

Cool build, good luck with it!

Hmmm... The list of bike available for $4k that can outperform even the most expertly built mega-budget CB is long. I guess it depends what you mean by "smoked" and "pretty princess" ;)

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Thank you sir! I still need to adjust the carbs but I'm waiting until I get my muffler for it.

Thank you, and yeah maybe 4 grand is a little far fetched lol.

Heres the final mockup of the strap. I already welded it together and i'm just waiting to paint it now and then fabricate the brackets that will mount to the frame.

So today I spent countless hours trying to figure out how I was going to make the seat work with the tank bracket (the seat had a flat pan and had no indent for the bracket to go around). I was going to originally cut the tank bracket off and think of a new way to mount it but I scratched that idea and decided to do a ballsy move and modify my brand new seat that I bought. This was going to be my last resort and it actually worked out really well. It took about 2 hours to transform it.

Today I got my rear loop! The angle and the seat didn't go together really well. So instead I turned the up curved seat into a flat seat by just bending it and making it flat. Then I cut the angle out of the rear loop and made it flat. Check the photos out! Ill be leaving tomorrow to go back up to college. Ill be back in 2 weeks. In the meantime ill be ordering some parts!

Anyone have any good tire recommendations? Im not trying to spend a fortune.

I bought some Bridgestone Spitfires real cheap on closeout. They have yet to kill me or maim me. They're no Battlaxes, but they're OK.

Ok now I need your guys help. I just got back to college and I brought up my set of carbs. I need to change the needle height and the jet size I believe. Im running a stock air box with a 4 into 1 exhaust with a shorty baffle on the end from DCC. Heres my question, how many need clips should I go up (or down)? And also, should I change my jet size??

Thanks Man! The loop was 70$ I believe off eBay (with free shipping ;)). It was a great deal to just buy one instead of spending the time and resources to bend a perfect hoop. I bought an angled one thinking I was going to keep the upsweep in the seat but the angles didn't fit perfectly so I just bent the aluminum seat pan for the flat look.

UPDATE! I finnaly broke down and bought a sand blaster from TS. It works really well. Im painting my wheels black so I removed the wheels and then made a tool to get the bearing retainers out (see pic below). Make sure you drill out the center punches!  I then sandblasted the wheel parts and sprayed them with some paint.

I NEED HELP!!! I dont know how to get the rear wheel bearing out. I need some tips/advice on how to get it out. Please share some insight with meee!!

Thought you'd painted your rotor at first, and was about to go all nutsy on you, but then saw the tape. Whew!

Did some more painting. I figured the idea out for  the gas tank. Im going to pain it two colors, gloss black and matte black. Its going to resemble the original honda cb designs but its going to be a more badass aggressive look.
