noise on the rear section of the motor cb 500f 1975
« on: August 24, 2006, 08:05:57 AM »
Hi:
just joinung the forum,.

I just restarted a cb500f 1975 stopped since last year.
It has the motor rebuilt (cam, rings, pistons etc..)

it runs fair but has a bad noise at the rear , close to the starter behind the clutch.
the electrical starter has problems as it does not connect properly and all the time with the wheel that moves the engine to start. so it makes a terrible noise itself when tried to start.

anyway the noise that worries me is one that is present when the engine is running ( even if it is started with the kickstart.

is there any way to check the starter section thru the clutch cover and not opening all the engine?

someone has a photo of motor so i can check if its possible to fix thry the clutch cover?

it might be something loose inside.

Thank you in advance..

Juan

Could it be that the carbs need synchronising and you are hearing the clutch rumble?

Thank you for the info.

Honestly when i started the bike (after a year) the carbs are very very badly sinchronyzed.
I am working on that .
After the second start ( 10 minutes after the first), the noise reduces to half of intensity so i hope a full tune up will be able to elominate it.

Thanks again.
