Yeah i tried all sorts of stuff with that bike, some of it worked, some of it didnt...it was one of those things where once i had my fill and accomplished what i set out to do,i moved on to other things..i do have a pretty trick head i made out of a XL500 reed valve head, took out the reed, welded up the hole, expoxied, ported, titanium valves....its one of those*one of these days* projects..course its been 20+ years of *one of these days* lol....oh yeah,FJ1100 cylinder studs cause i kept breaking the so called heavy duty studs that were available..think theyre 10mm studs vs the 8mm...by god,my torque wrench went *CLICK* loudly when i tightened em down, none of that wussy stretchy feeling tightening ha ha..solid...oh yeah,XR600 cylinder sleeve with some one off flat top pistons,100mm,i think its 627cc...like i said, one of these days...probably another hand grenade..

Ray Hixon

I gave him my engine to use, then we tried some other stuff and it didnt work out very well,as in i built a hand grenade that exploded to soon ha ha..Ray is a professor teaching in Toledo, along with working for NASA...one smart guy that man..we still talk from time to time..he is a good man.

I still have that engine,i fixed it,figured out pretty much what went wrong, and its sitting in the barn now awaiting future resurection..i just cant seem to let that one go,it has a soft spot in my heart..i loved that Ascot i really did...most fun i ever had.I used to run it in this Formula 2 class against the FZR400s and such...get all warmed up and then run Clubman..it was awesome on the tight twisty tracks, the long tracks not so much, didnt have the top end of those FZRs...
