Topic: Earlier CB550 Seat Fittament on CB550K?

I've been working on my 78 550 and wanting to keep it relatively stock, but I absolutely hate the stock seat. The earlier 550 seats are look like they would be comfy yet don't look like a sofa. Do they bolt right on to a 78 or at least really easily modifyable? Don't want to alter my frame at all, kindof my goal with this build. Thanks.

A spare beat up '78 seat I have fit right up to my '75 frame, including the helmet lock. So I would think that an early seat should work just fine on a 77-78 bike.

The 77-78 Cb550K tank (same shape as the F model tank) is longer than the earlier K model tank.  So, earlier K seats will not fit unless you also change to the earlier tank.  Frame mounts are the same, though.
An F model seat will fit onto the 77-78K with the stock tank.  But, there are grab rail differences.

Really? I like the look of the 77 or 78 seats. They look sportier than the big wide earlier seats.
