Simple Tach Cable Question.
« on: August 08, 2006, 01:12:53 PM »
I bought a 72 CB750 in May and it came without a tach or tach cable.  I have finally purchased a tach cable (bought the tach a couple months prior) and I have no idea if I'm just supposed to jam the cable into the hole and onto the "tach drive shaft", or if there is a part that actually holds the cable onto/into the case.

It's a pretty idiotic question, but there you have it.

You know, I'm not actually certain the tach drive even works, it's "unsealed" (meaning I can see the drive shaft/pin), and the cable will pretty much just slide right in if I push it - it doesn't seem very secure...

TIA!

The is a screw on the valve cover. Its above the receiver at 90 degrees. Slide the tachcable in and fix it with the crew.
It will work without the seal but will leak oil like hell. Even with the seal my K6 leaks

Thanks!

(Now I wonder if I'm missing the set screw as I don't remember seeing it last night.)  :)
