My new project

Picked up this CM 450 for cheap.......$100.     ;D    Doesnt need much.....Im hoping anyway.

 Only has 8973 miles on it but somebodys took a poof can to it. Forks are poof can silver along with the rear shocks and the engine case is poof can black.  Front caliper needs work, needs a left side cover, shift lever, and tank has a dent in right side.  Was hoping maybe the wife would want to ride it but she just rolled her eyes  ::) Its been a bad 2 weeks to be doing that to me.....quit smoking back on the 1st and I could chew nails about now.  ;D

Im hoping that I can do something with the front end.......like bring it down about 8"   Were the stock forks on these things this long?  Im thinking maybe doing it up Cafe.  :P

CONGRATS! it's got a certain...POTENTIAL! yeah! that's it!  ;D

looks like a good time to me...

hey what size is that rear tire? it looks kinda small, but i can't tell if it's just because of the spokeless wheels...???

               KC. after what you did with your 750, this should be no problem. I can only see good things

So........how about the front end on this thing? Can I change the forks to get it out of the clouds or will it screw with the rake and trail too bad?

shortening the forks and increasing rear shock length would vastly improve handling.

That looks sweet.........you had me going there for a minute.  ;D  I think you still got Bill going.  ;D  ;D  At first I said NO WAY!!!!!.....somebodys read my mind.........then I noticed the "Shop chop" The driveway and woods looked familar.

I think the cafe look will work.

It's just a 5 minute photoshop job.
All I did was reduce front fork length, and add a different tank, seat, and controls :)

Still looks good for only working on it for 5 minutes.  Cant even tell where the old controls were.......background doesnt look changed at all where they were.

Back is a 130-90-16....... front is 18

Thanks Bill........I just hope it turns out like mlinders version.  Gotta start checking to see what forks I can use on it and find a tank.
Is that a 750 tank mlinder?

I'll probally have to fab a seat pan. Wont be able to use a fiberglass one like on my 750........the frame on the 450 isnt straight/level, it follows the contour of the bottom of the seat.

Just an update........fired the beast up today. Only thing I had to do was charge the battery and put some gas in it.

Now the fun begins. If anyone runs across a left sidecover for it give me a shout.
