Topic: Side bags?

I'm interested in finding hard side bags (or possibly making some out of ammo cans?) so that I can carry a bivy, bag, my waders, boots, etc. and do some touring type riding/exploring with a CB that's been tweaked to look more like a dirt tracker I guess. Are there any options out there?

I have seen military thermos containers adopted as carriers,   I would look at dual sports gear for your purpose, like this:
