Well at least we found the right page. That's some basic troubleshooting. but a good starting point. I'm still waiting to hear on their analysis of the S I sent them, and then, to see how they react to the shorted 3 ohm coil I found. I'm trying to decide on the  Dyna 2000 system, or the Power Arc System from CycleX.

Actually gives a lot of tune ability, if you have the model with the extra plug there is a program kit that can be bought for even more programmability... ;)

This is on hondamans site

"NOTE: On the alternator-challenged CB500/550 bikes, this Resistor Pack can allow the rider to use the Dyna 3 ohm coils with either stock points ignition or the Transistorized Ignition. It will not, however, reduce currents enough on this bike to allow for BOTH the Dyna S triggers and the Dyna 3-ohm coils: that is just too much load for the mid-sized Fours to carry. The CB500/550 rider may use EITHER the 3-ohm coils with this Resistor Pack, OR the Dyna S triggers with stock OEM coils: using both will cause electrical overloads and low battery charge problems, due to the smaller alternator output."

So is there any solution to running both Dyna Coils and Dyna Ignition Timing?...

On a 500/550? Nope.

Dyna received my S way back on July 9th...  coming up on a month now. Is their service any better than the product??? or do they just wait around for you to call them???
